A House That Became a Home

Hellen loved Colonial style homes. When she and Bob decided to build a new home in 1967, she found plans for the house in Good Housekeeping that embodied an authentic Williamsburg home.. She sourced brick from an area in Virginia close to Williamsburg, had wooden gutters installed and special bay windows. The inside featured painting and staining in the colonial style.

People loved to drive by her house, stop and tell her how much they loved it.

KEEP AKRON BEAUTIFUL thought so too. They presented Hellen with awards 20+ years.

In 2003, the Mayor of Akron awarded here the Most Beautiful House in Akron award.
